Just got back from the chuckles in york ,cracking day again. we got there early to get parked up then went round to the theatre . we got tickets for row m so not too bad . then the motor home came round and the lads go out, we chatted to barry for half an hour , jimmy came out for a bit and had a bit chat , a few people came up and wanted there photos taken so i took photos for them and barry went in to get ready. Julie bob came as well so we had a good chat to her and her son. the show was spot on and a few new bits thrown in for good measure , the magic from safire was fantastic as always. then when it was time for the kids to get on stage jak got his name picked out of the hat first , so that was his 3rd time on stage this year , he was well pleased. then aftere the show as we waited for the signing i popped outside and helped stuart pack his van up with his magic equipment . he thanked me and shook my hand and told me to see them in the summer season. then we went to get some more things signed and paul said that i should get in touch with the guiness book of records to get my collection put in , so i think ill see if i can get in touch too see how you go about doing it. so we got loads of photos taken , ive put some on my facebook , so if anyone wants to be friends with me too have a look at them then send me a message. ben got his broken arm signed and got some great photos of barry signing it and paul looking like hes got a bad arm too. so another great show , ive seen this one 3 times now and still great , so im now looking forward to the summer season , maybe scarbrough or skeggy , 10 out of 10 again for this show . simple as that.

I know you'll love the show, Chris. In my opinion it's probably one of the best shows they've done so far as it's particularly unique and stuff. You'll have to post another review when you get back!

Now having seen the show, I'm highly tempted to agree with your signature, chucklemania. Then again, I always feel the most recent tour to be "the best" - it's really hard to settle on a favourite! I really loved the format for this year's show. Simply showcase of some of the Chuckles best sketches, with no pretence of having to weave in a storyline.
There was a fair bit of familiar material, but still plenty to surprise. Notably the "Harmonies" sketch (with all four brothers) was longer than the version seen on the DVD extras - quite a different feel to it, yet still just as hilarious. Seem to remember the job centre sketch being a little different when I saw it years ago in Barry Potty, so it was good to see it performed live as it was on the In Trouble DVD.
As usual, there was the odd "mistake". One memorable bit being Paul mixing up Simon Cowell's name with someone else's, therefore reducing himself and Jimmy into helpless fits of laughter. If this was a scripted moment, it was incredibly convincing! Speaking of Jimmy and Brian, it was good to see the Patton Brothers with a bit more to do this year, even getting a few scenes to themselves.
Nice selection of songs, stunning magic act from Saffire as usual, and the game at the end was a good laugh too. Not what I expecting at all. Of course, the Q&A session was perhaps the most exciting bit. The guys were asked how they got started, what their first act was, where Barry gets his shirts, their ages (!) and what their scariest moment was. They both related some amusing anecdotes for this latter question - Barry remembering the time he was nervous of working with a huge dog on ChuckleVision!
Apart from wishing the Q&A could have gone on a bit longer, 'twas an excellent show. I'm almost tempted to see it again during the summer season!

Glad you enjoyed it Chris When I saw it in Southsea, someone asked them what influenced to do some particular sketches (like the marching scene in Pirates of the River Rother and the fake mirror bit in Spooky Goings on 2), and I must admit I did find it pretty interesting to say that they came from their dad and other comedians I probably won't be seeing them for ages now though lol

Lol when I went to see it in Llandudno, one boy asked Paul "Why are you always mean to Barry?" and Paul said "I'm never mean to Barry!" and I whispered "You are mean to him"

So now that everyone on the forum has seen the show (as far as I'm aware of ), what was their favourite parts of the show? Mine would have to have been the decorating sketch, not just because I got drowned in freezing water lol. No, I noticed most of it was carried over from Live and In Trouble as I saw that part on YouTube, but it did have some great funny bits in it, especially when Brian came out on stage at the wrong time and had Paul and Barry laughing for quite a bit Well done lads I also think the tour programme had rather a lot of interesting photos, especially those ones of Paul and Barry as kids, as they've never been seen before as far as I'm aware of too lol Is anyone seeing them again this year's summer season?

It's a good way of promoting the DVDs to those that don't own them, I guess, but I'd rather they'd have answered a few more "real" questions as well - there was certainly no shortage of hands up in the audience. So now that everyone on the forum has seen the show (as far as I'm aware of ), what was their favourite parts of the show? It really came to life with an audience reaction. I couldnt really afford a programme this time, although glancing over the shoulder of someone who had bought one made me wish otherwise! I might see if I can snag one more cheaply on eBay - if not, I expect there'll be a few interesting photos to look forward to in the biography later this year.

Yeah, I think that decorating sketch really particularly came to life with an audience reaction as well, as the one on the Live and In Trouble DVD was filmed as a rehearsal version. When I was watching those Live and In Trouble clips on YouTube before we went to see them in Southsea, I felt reallhy sure that all those clips were going to be carried over into this current show but I'm sure I didn't realise how much they would come to life with an audience reaction. I also think the mistakes they make in the show make it come to life as well, but mind you I suppose they don't do it in the rehearsal version because I suppose then the littlies, if they saw it, wouldn't be convinced that the mistakes were deliberate (if they were deliberate, lol ) Anyway, it's only 2 more dates of the actual UK tour and then the lads have a nice long deserving break until the summer season starts.
