Billy explained this a while ago: They can't sell copies of the pantomime for copyright reasons, only production managment (and some performers) get a copy of the show as a momento.

I don't understand what that means

Before any video / DVDs can be released they are subject to copyright and legal issues, for example one or more of the performers may wish for the pantomime not to be rebroadcast or release on a medium such as online or DVD the management also get a say in this, even the sound track or background music requires to be legally cleared by the PRS (Performers Rights Sociery)
It is therefore easier to clear a production which is your own production rather than a production by a third party

Put even more simply, getting a pantomime on DVD is a lot harder than getting one of the regular tours like Spooky Goings On on DVD. I'm sure it'd be possible, but there's too much hassle involved. I hope that makes sense.

yeah it does thanks but what's the difference between the hassle of filming a show dvd and the hassle of filming a pantomime dvd? Besides, seeing as Shaun's sons were filmed in a glimpse of the signing queue after the Spooky Goings on 2 show, it would be great for me if the same thing could happen to me.

The "hassle" is all of what Ashley mentioned in his post. I know you don't get it, but really it can't be put any more simply than that.

they wont make dvds like alladin cinderella things like that because they wont make much money off them at the end of the day they have to make a living ,there lighting people , sound people, the people who produce the dvds , the cast members , the chuckle brothers, the list just goes on and on and on its daft producing 5000 of these if they are only going to be selling 3000 please someone whack me over the head with a mallet

It would be good if Barry got get them to make some for us members on here, but that wouldn't happen because there would be all sorts of hassal with copyright and stuff.

Shall we just end it here, There will not be Panto dvds made due to copyright issues and hassle. We have no idea if they will make some in the future but thats what we can find out then. was that any good to have done??

That is definitely what we can find out in the future, but it still would have been great if any chuckle pantomime would have been recorded and released.

reading this - i think they would have to release them at christmas, and people would only watch them at christmas, therefore people not buying them, so you would have to wait a year to get them anyway!
EDIT Just forgot A Christmas Chuckle is being released (hopefully) but that's more of a show, not a panto

Well it's a good thing Barry said that they're hoping to get one done of A Christmas Chuckle, even though that could be more like a tour.
